A 2025 systematic review analyzed 187 scientific articles attempting to define "healthspan."
187 different definitions. No consensus.
Some measured years without disease (or, in other words, years of life in good health). Others tracked physical capability. A few included subjective well-being.
The academic confusion mirrors the conflicting advice you're getting from every direction.
What the debate misses?
Healthspan lives in the gap between your chronological age and how your body actually feels. Some people carry their decades lightly, like a well-tailored coat. Others feel crushed beneath theirs.
The difference? What you've allowed to accumulate versus what you've learned to release.
Your cells respond to concrete inputs: sleep that restores, movement that builds, nutrients your body recognizes, stress that finds resolution instead of settling like sediment.
